Indeed, the triple wavelength (755/808/1064nm) leads to an optimal absorbsion by the melanin, leading to selective photothermolysis, where the laser energy is converted to heat, damaging the hair follicle while minimizing damage to surrounding tissue.
Laser diode hair removal is a non-invasive procedure that utilizes a high-powered diode laser emitting a coherent and monochromatic light beam. Working on the concept of selective photo-thermolysis (similar to IPL), the laser emits photons at a specific wavelength (755, 808, 1064 nm) that is selectively absorbed by the melanin pigment present in the hair follicles. This absorbed energy converts into heat, damaging the follicle and impeding its ability to produce new hair. The laser's longer pulse duration and larger spot size enable deeper penetration and efficient targeting of multiple hair follicles simultaneously. The procedure requires multiple sessions to treat hair in different growth phases and achieve long-term hair reduction.
Working with a lower brightness, the burning risk of light-emitted area is much lower allowing to work on a larger number of skin types.
